Extra strong reinforcing fleece for the full-surface sealing of larger areas

The Polyester fleece 120 g/m² 50 cm, roll 0.50 x 50 m is a reinforced reinforcing fleece for the Surface application in liquid waterproofing systems. The wide fleece membrane is particularly suitable for larger flat roof, balcony and terrace areas as well as for extensive renovation areas.

The 50 cm wide roll allows for efficient reinforcement of larger areas and reduces the number of required fleece joints compared to narrower rolls. When applied across the entire surface, existing transitions and cracks within the area are also incorporated into the reinforcement. Depending on the sealing system, critical connections, drains and penetrations may still require additional detail reinforcement.

The fleece consists of 99 % Polyester (PES), It is micro-perforated and additionally sewn with polyester threads. The micro-perforation promotes even embedding and impregnation with the sealing material, while the sewn structure further stabilizes the fleece.

The mechanical properties were determined according to DIN EN ISO 10319 Tested. According to SGS test report no. QDIN2411002250PL01_EN The material achieves a tensile strength of up to 12.6 kN/m.

The polyester fleece is used as reinforcement in sealing systems with Liquid plastics, PU, PMMA and suitable bitumen systems used.

Characteristics

  • 120 g/m² polyester fleece – reinforced version for more heavily stressed sealing surfaces
  • 50 cm roll width – for efficient surface reinforcement
  • Microperforated – supports uniform embedding in liquid waterproofing systems
  • Sewn with polyester threads – additional stabilization of the nonwoven structure
  • High tensile strength – up to 12.6 kN/m according to DIN EN ISO 10319
  • Fewer fleece seams compared to narrower roll widths
  • Easy to cut to size and apply to large areas
  • Suitable for liquid plastic, PU, PMMA and suitable bitumen systems

Applications

  • Full-surface reinforcement of liquid waterproofing systems on flat roofs;
  • Renovation of larger existing roof areas;
  • Balcony waterproofing;
  • Terrace waterproofing;
  • used roof areas;
  • larger partial areas during renovations;
  • wide upstands and connection surfaces;
  • Cutting larger pieces of reinforcement for special roof details.

Practical examples

  • flat roof refurbishment – full-surface reinforcement of larger existing roof areas within a new liquid waterproofing system.

  • Flat roof in new building – uniform reinforcement of larger, contiguous sealing surfaces.

  • Balcony waterproofing – suitable for larger areas within a liquid waterproofing system.

  • Terrace waterproofing – wide non-woven fabric for efficient, flat processing.

  • Partial remediation – for larger repair and renovation areas where narrow fleece strips are insufficient.

Instructions for use

  • Prepare the substrate according to the specifications of the sealing system used.
  • Apply the first layer of sealant evenly.
  • Place the polyester fleece into the still fresh sealant and embed it completely and without bubbles.
  • Completely saturate the fleece with the intended sealing material.
  • Lay the strips with the overlap specified by the system manufacturer.
  • Reinforce critical connections, drains and penetrations separately if necessary.
  • Then completely recoat with the intended topcoat.

What width is suitable for my project?

  • 15 cm roll width – Cracks, small connections, inside/outside corners and precise detail work.

  • 25 cm roll width – larger connections, attics, parapets and transitions.

  • 35 cm roll width – Roof drains, gullies, fans, penetrations and complex detail areas.

  • 50 cm roll width – this variant – larger areas and full-surface reinforcement of flat roofs, balconies and terraces.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Why is the 50 cm roller width particularly suitable for large-area reinforcements?
✅ With a width of 50 cm, larger areas can be reinforced efficiently. Compared to narrower rolls, fewer fleece strips and therefore fewer joints are required.

Does the 50 cm version replace the narrower roll widths?
✅ No. For cracks, joints, drains, and other detailed areas, 15, 25, or 35 cm rolls are often more manageable and material-efficient. The 50 cm roll is primarily intended for larger, continuous surfaces.

Do roof details need to be additionally reinforced when the entire surface is reinforced?
✅ This depends on the specific sealing system and the details. Critical connections, drains, and penetrations may require additional layers of fleece or separately cut reinforcement pieces despite full-surface reinforcement.

Is the fleece suitable for PU and PMMA liquid plastics?
✅ Polyester fleece is used as reinforcement in many PU and PMMA liquid waterproofing systems. Observe the approvals and processing guidelines of the respective system manufacturer.

Do I need to cut the fleece?
✅ Yes, it can easily be cut to size with scissors or a cutter.

How wide should the overlap of the strips be?
✅ The required overlap depends on the sealing system used. The system manufacturer's specifications are decisive.

Is the product UV-resistant?
✅ The fleece is intended for use within waterproofing systems. It should be covered in case of direct UV exposure.

Can the polyester fleece be processed at low temperatures?
✅ The permissible processing temperature of the sealing system used is crucial. The manufacturer's instructions must be followed.

How should the polyester fleece be stored?
✅ Store the fleece in a dry place, protected from direct sunlight and UV light. A covered, well-ventilated room is ideal. This will ensure the roll retains its shape and remains easy to work with.

How long does the polyester fleece last in a waterproofing system?
✅ The fleece is part of the overall sealing system. Its actual lifespan depends on the system used, the substrate, the installation, and the subsequent stresses.

✅ The 120 g/m² polyester fleece in 50 cm roll width combines the reinforced 120 g/m² design with an efficient working width for larger sealing areas. It is particularly suitable for the full-surface reinforcement of flat roofs, balconies, and terraces. Roll widths of 15, 25, and 35 cm are available for smaller connections and complex roof details.
